The Nave

The NAVE, more sober than the sanctuary, is Romanesque in its lower parts but crowned with a Gothic arch. The crossed ogives rest lightly on the Roman capitals of the pillars of the central nave. The transition between the two styles is harmonious, respecting the original proportions

The choir-stalls were made by two craftsmen from Orléans in 1413. The choir-rail was a gift of Cardinal Richelieu, commendatory abbot, in 1637. The monks gather here six times every day to sing praise to God.
